SUMMARY:Hunt - Soil for Water: Agricultural Resilience Clinic with Nicole Masters
DESCRIPTION:ONE- AND TWO-DAY TICKETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE \nFriday only $70 (includes lunch) ONLY 15 AVAILABLE \nFriday Game Dinner at The Hunt Store $35 \nFriday and Saturday $130 (both days include lunch)* ONLY 18 AVAILABLE \nInternationally-acclaimed agroecologist Nicole Masters of New Zealand will join NCAT specialists\, HMI Certified Educators\, and other regenerative agriculture experts for two activity-filled days exploring agricultural resilience. In the dynamic and sometimes unforgiving climates of Texas\, any agricultural operation needs to be ready to cope with and recover from adversity. By holding more water in the soil and fostering the right soil microbiology we can buffer changes in temperature and mitigate the effects of extreme weather patterns. \nThis two-day clinic will provide insights into soil health\, soil health indicators and monitoring techniques\, and plant health. Questions Nicole will address include: \n\nHow do we build soil structure to improve water and mineral cycles?\nWhat is the role of soil microbes in pasture quality and resiliency?\nWhat are your weeds telling you?\nHow do we manage weeds\, disease\, and insects?\nHow do we shift from invasive grasses to native grasses?\nHow does adaptive multi-paddock grazing encourage resiliency?\nWhat monitoring strategies can we use to be sure we are making improvement and moving towards our goals?\nHow can we reduce the need for chemical inputs without reducing yields?\n\n* No single tickets for Saturday will be sold. Per Nicole’s request\, people who join the hands-on portion of the clinic on Saturday must attend on Friday. \nPlease reserve your space for the clinic and the dinner using the form below. \nLodging options for this training are limited and we suggest you book as soon as possible to ensure your space. \nClick here to visit NCAT’s website for more information and lodging options\, or call or email NCAT specialist Kara Kroeger\, 479-587-3479 or karak@ncat.org. \nClick here to register.
