SUMMARY:Boerne - Gardening 101: Pollinators - Herff Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join Keith Amelung of Have Spade Will Travel this Saturday and every 3rd Saturday after the Farmer’s Market at Herff Farm for an introduction to the “basics” of veggie gardening in the Texas Hill Country. We will cover the “how to get started” in a quick 1-hour presentation followed by a Q&A and a seasonal hands-on project. \nEggplants\, okra\, squash or pumpkin – you need not be a flower to NEED a little help from our flying friends. We will discuss some of the best ways to attract pollinating insects to our vegetable gardens. We will also discuss a few native and acclimated plant species for our landscape that help to attract beneficial insects. Interactive: Each attendee will receive a superior pollinating attracting plant to take home. Together we will set out a few transplants in the new “Pollinator” inspired Garden Beds at the Herff Farm. \nLearn more and register here.
