SUMMARY:Wimberley - Wanted Dead and Alive\, Mountain Cedar
DESCRIPTION:Hill Country Chapter\, Native Plant Society of Texas \nWanted Dead and Alive\, Mountain Cedar\nBy Elizabeth McGreevy – Restoration Ecologist and Permaculture Planner \nJoin us Monday\, March 9 to hear Elizabeth McGreevy tell us why Mountain Cedars\, “the tree we love to hate”\, should instead be valued as a commodity for conservation. Elizabeth\, a restoration ecologist and permaculture planner in Austin\, has been working with and observing Ashe juniper for over 20 years and says emotion is at the heart of our cedar misconceptions. McGreevy is trying to dispel some of these myths with her book. Her goal is to provide people with “a better understanding of why and how this veteran of our Hill Country has become invasive and why it deserves some respect.” Elizabeth is member and frequent writer for the Native Plant Society of Texas. \n\n\nEveryone welcome. Meetings are free and open to the public.
