DESCRIPTION:For Hill Country Night Sky Month\, we are encouraging you to become citizen scientists by using your naked eye to measure sky brightness caused by light pollution for the monthly Globe at Night Citizen Science Campaign! \nOur goal is to get 100 measurements! \nFor this campaign\, you have two\, 10-day windows from September 24th-October 3rd and October 24th-November 2nd when the moon will not interfere with measurements. Go outside at night an hour and a half after sunset and use the Globe at Night webapp to find constellations to help you measure the sky brightness in your area.

This will be a moderate to difficult hike of about 2-3 miles\, led by Hill Country Program Director Alec King. \nWe recommend wearing long pants\, closed-toe shoes\, and insect repellent. Please bring a refillable water bottle. \n\n\n$5 per member \n\n\n$20 per non-member \n\n\n$45 to become a member and reserve your spot! \n\n\nKids 12 and under are free \n\n\nBecause this event is taking place on private property\, we are limiting the number of people to 20 (not including children) and we will send directions to the property in your confirmation email after you register.
