Hays County RHCP – Final Drafts for public comment and Notice of public hearing
Hays County will conduct a public hearing to discuss the County’s application for a federal Endangered Species Act incidental take permit and possible adoption by the Hays County Commissioners Court of a regional habitat conservation plan (RHCP) and related items. Aquifer stakeholders agree to pursue plan to protect species – Federal, State Funds to Aid Efforts
July 10, 2009. Yesterday the stakeholders in the Edwards Aquifer Recovery Implementation Program (EARIP) successfully came together to commit to a process of developing a Habitat Conservation Plan for the Edwards Aquifer and its associated endangered species. The Habitat Conservation Plan will design long term actions that will be implemented to help the recovery of the endangered species. Read full media release here.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service awards grant for habitat conservation plan
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced Thursday it will grant $1.3 million to Bexar County and the City of San Antonio to fund the development of a regional habitat conservation plan. The County and City will split a 25 percent match, or $446,897. Read full media release here.
