The stars above are one of our region’s most treasured natural resources, yet increasing population growth and development across the Texas Hill Country are contributing to light pollution that dims our view of them. In Burnet County, preserving—and in some areas, restoring—the night sky is vital, not only for the health of all living things but also for sustaining our local economy, tourism, safety, and cultural heritage.
