Nonprofits Team Up to Restore the Guadalupe River | KSAT News
The July 2025 floods caused devastating losses along the Guadalupe River, including extensive damage to natural vegetation. In coverage from KSAT News, Hill Country Alliance Executive Director Katherine Romans described the scale of the loss, noting that some locations lost nearly all their natural vegetation and that the most heavily impacted areas of the Upper Guadalupe Basin lost 52% of their vegetation. HCA is working alongside nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and other partners to help restore the river’s natural vegetation and support the landowners who care for these landscapes. This collaborative effort is an important part of helping the river and surrounding communities heal.
