Our presentation is “Become Creative with ‘STEAM'” by Dinah Zike who becomes our creative mentor with STEAM Garden, Native Plants, and Recycling: Oh, My!
“STEAM” grew from the acronym “STEM” when the creative field of Arts were added to the educational approach to teaching holistically. STEAM combines the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Arts and (a+b) Mathematics. STEAM encourages “thinking out of the box” being creative as well as analytical. How does that apply to gardening with native plants?
A nationally renowned creator of educational materials, author, educational consultant, and lecturer, Dinah focuses on her immediate loves in this presentation: completion of the showcase Dinah Zike Academy in Comfort, Texas, her native garden, and encouraging others to be creative with recycled materials in their own lives while building an exciting, supportive environment.
