Guadalupe River Recovery After Two Consecutive Floods | San Antonio Express-News
What does recovery look like after two consecutive floods? The San Antonio Express-News explored the Guadalupe River’s recovery, including restoration work led by Hill Country Alliance and our partners. Following the devastating 2025 flooding, thousands of native plants and trees were planted along the riverbanks. Despite another major flood in 2026, many of those young plantings survived, offering an encouraging sign for the river’s long-term recovery. HCA and our partners are looking ahead, working to develop a post-flood restoration and resilience plan for the Upper Guadalupe watershed.
